Guiding prompts by XR4Human

The XR4Human project focused on human-centric XR technology, design principles and ethical frameworks, provides a rich collection of deliverables that can significantly enhance your internal knowledge ecosystem.

We’ve compiled a series of guiding prompts designed for use with any large language model (LLM) of your choice. These prompts support exploratory analysis, structured knowledge extraction, cross-document synthesis, and integration with your proprietary datasets.

A Human-Centered Approach to XR: XR4Human Code of Conduct

The XR4Human Code of Conduct outlines the ethical responsibilities of everyone involved in the creation, deployment, and governance of immersive and extended reality (XR) technologies—including VR, AR, MR, and emerging future systems.

Developed in consultation with academics, developers, and governmental stakeholders, the Code reflects a shared commitment to:

  • Respect for human rights
  • Protection of user privacy
  • Promotion of accessibility and inclusivity
  • Safeguarding the mental, physical, and social well-being of users

It applies to designers, developers, providers, and all XR industry actors across the full lifecycle of immersive technologies.
Its principles offer clear guidance for building XR experiences that are ethical, human-centered, safe, and aligned with fundamental rights standards.

A step forward in ensuring XR evolves responsibly—putting people first.

Putting the XR4Human Code of Conduct into Practice

The XR4Human project is committed to ensuring that immersive technologies are developed ethically, inclusively, and with full respect for human rights. While the XR4Human Code of Conduct provides a comprehensive framework for responsible XR design, what truly matters is how its principles translate into real-world practice.

We highlight two practical examples, also hosted in the XR4Human Library, that bring these principles to real – world applications:
Nevrolens Augmented Reality and VR4VET Blue Sector App

Watch these videos, which demonstrate the accessibility and inclusion features of the two applications, developed in line with the guidelines of the XR4Human Code of Conduct provided in the Code of Conduct of the XR4Human project.

Nevrolens Augmented Reality

VR4VET Blue Sector App

Translating Principles Into Actionable Design

Both applications demonstrate how the guidelines of the XR4Human Code of Conduct can be applied directly during the design and development of XR technologies. They show how principles such as accessibility and inclusion can move beyond theoretical recommendations and become tangible features that improve user experience for diverse audiences.

The Code of Conduct is a practical tool that can guide the development of immersive technologies toward safer, more inclusive, and ethically aligned solutions.

By embedding its principles into real applications, developers and designers can ensure that XR innovation serves people first, supporting equity, safety, and meaningful participation for all users.
